Youmans, 26, of Flushing, Mich.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 125th Infantry Regiment, Michigan Army National Guard, Saginaw, Mich.; died March 1 at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio of injuries sustained Nov. 21 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee during combat operations in Habbaniyah, Iraq.

  • Army Spc. Christopher S. Merchant, 32, of Hardwick, Vt.; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 172nd Infantry Regiment, Vermont Army National Guard, Jericho, Vt.; killed March 1 when his Humvee came under attack by enemy forces using a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device and rocket-propelled grenade in Ramadi, Iraq.

  • Army Pfc. Tina M. Priest, 20, of Austin, Texas; assigned to the 4th Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Divison, Fort Hood, Texas; died March 1 from a non-combat-related injury in Taji, Iraq.

Ray, 29, of Asheville, N.C.; assigned to the 391st Engineer Battalion, Army Reserve, Asheville, N.C.; killed March 12 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee during combat operations west of Asadabad, Afghanistan. Also killed were: Sgt. Kevin D. Akins, Sgt. Anton J. Hiett and Spc. Joshua L. Hill.

Also killed were: Staff Sgt. Joseph R. Ray, Sgt. Kevin D. Akins and Spc. Joshua L. Hill.

  • Army Staff Sgt. Marco A. Silva, 27, of Alva, Fla.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed March 13 when he came under small arms fire and an improvised explosive device detonated during combat operations near Ramadi, Iraq. Also killed was Sgt. Corey A. Dan.

Dan, 22, of Norway, Maine; assigned the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky; killed March 13 when he came under small arms fire and an improvised explosive device detonated during combat operations near Ramadi, Iraq. Also killed was Staff Sgt. Marco A. Silva.

  • Army Sgt. Amanda N. Pinson, 21, of St. Louis, Mo.; assigned to the 101st Military Intelligence Detachment, 501st Special Troops Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed Mar. 16 when a mortar round detonated in Tikrit, Iraq. Also killed was Spc. Carlos M. Gonzalez.

  • Army Spc. Carlos M. Gonzalez, 22, of Middletown, N.Y.; assigned to the 101st Military Intelligence Detachment, 501st Special Troops Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed Mar. 16 when a mortar round detonated in Tikrit, Iraq. Also killed was Sgt. Amanda N. Pinson.

  • Army Sgt. Dale G. Brehm, 23, of Turlock, Calif.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Lewis, Wash.; killed March 18 when he came under small arms fire by enemy forces during combat operations in Ramadi, Iraq. Also killed was Staff Sgt. Ricardo Barraza.

  • Army Sgt. 1st Class Randy D. McCaulley, 44, Indiana, Pa.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 110th Infantry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division, Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Indiana, Pa.; killed March 23 when his dismounted patrol came under enemy small arms fire during combat operations in Habbaniyah, Iraq.

  • Army Staff Sgt. Christopher L. Robinson, 36, Brandon, Miss.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group, Mississippi Army National Guard, Jackson, Miss.; killed March 25 when his Humvee came under enemy small arms fire during combat operations in Sangain District, Afghanistan.

  • Army Spc. Frederick A. Carlson, 25, of Bethlehem, Pa.; assigned to the 228th Forward Support Battalion, 2nd Battalion, 28th Infantry Division, Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Bethlehem, Pa.; died March 25 from a non-combat-related cause in Taqqadum, Iraq. The incident is under investigation.

  • Army Sgt. 1st Class John T. Stone, 52, of Norwich, Vt.; assigned to the 15th Civil Support Team, Vermont Army National Guard, South Burlington, Vt.; killed March 28 as a result of enemy mortar and small arms attacks during combat operations in Lashkagar, Afghanistan.

  • Army Sgt. Michael D. Rowe, 23, New Port Richey, Fla.; assigned to the 46th Engineer Battalion, Warrior Brigade, Fort Polk, La.; killed March 28 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee during combat operations died in Rutbah, Iraq.

  • Army Pfc. Sean D. Tharp, 21, of Orlando, Fla.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed March 28 when his element came under enemy small arms fire while conducting dismounted patrol operations in Baghdad.

  • Army Staff Sgt. Robert Hernandez, 47, of Silver Spring, Md.; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 318th Regiment, 1st Brigade, 80th Division (Institutional Training), Army Reserve, Fort Meade, Md.; killed March 28 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee during combat operations in Taquaddum, Iraq.
