Army Pfc. Branden F. Oberleitner, 20, of Worthington, Ohio; assigned to Company B, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed by a rifle-fired grenade in Fallujah, Iraq, as he returned from a dismounted patrol.
Marine Lance Cpl. Patrick T. O’Day, 20, of Sonoma, Calif.; assigned to 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, Calif.; killed in action while conducting convoy operations near the Euphrates River, Iraq.
Army Sgt. Maj. Robert D. Odell, 38, of Manassas, Va.; assigned to Army Intelligence & Security Command, Fort Belvoir, Va.; killed Dec. 21 when his base dining facility was attacked in Mosul, Iraq.
Marine Lance Cpl. Shane K. O’Donnell, 24, of DeForest, Wis.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Corps Reserve, Chicago; killed Nov. 8 by enemy action in Babil province, Iraq.
Army Spc. Charles E. Odums II, 22, of Sandusky, Ohio; assigned to Headquarters, Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed May 30 when his military convoy hit an improvised explosive in Baghdad.
Army Sgt. John B. Ogburn III, 45, of Fruitland, Ore.; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 116th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Oregon Army National Guard, Ontario, Ore.; killed May 22 when his driver swerved to avoid striking a civilian vehicle and his Humvee overturned in Kirkuk, Iraq.
Army Spc. Ramon C. Ojeda, 22, of Ramona, Calif.; assigned to the 84th Engineer Battalion, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Honolulu, Hawaii; killed May 1 when his convoy was attacked in Amarah, Iraq.
Army Staff Sgt. Tony B. Olaes, 30, of Walhalla, S.C.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, N.C.; killed Sept. 20 when his patrol vehicle was ambushed by small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades in Shkin, Afghanistan.
Marine Cpl. Brian Oliveira, 22, of Raynham, Mass.; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; died Oct. 25 from injuries sustained in enemy action in Anbar province, Iraq.
Army Sgt. Nicholas J. Olivier, 26, of Ruston, La.; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 156th Infantry Regiment, Louisiana Army National Guard, Pineville, La.; killed Feb. 23 when an improvised explosive device detonated while he was on foot patrol in Baghdad.
Marine Cpl. John T. Olson, 21, of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; assigned to Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed Feb. 21 by hostile action in Anbar province, Iraq.
Army Staff Sgt. Todd D. Olson, 36, of Loyal, Wis.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 128th Infantry Regiment, Wisconsin Army National Guard, Neillsville, Wis.; died Dec. 27 in the 67th Combat Support Hospital in Tikrit, Iraq, of wounds sustained on Dec. 26 when an improvised explosive device detonated in Samarra, Iraq.
Army Pfc. Evan W. O’Neill, 19, of Haverhill, Mass.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum N.Y.; killed as a result of enemy fire on Sept. 29, 2003, in Afghanistan.
Army Sgt. Michael C. O’Neill, 22, of Mansfield, Ohio; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Ga.; died Nov. 21 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, of injuries sustained Nov. 17 at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, during preparations for combat operations.
Army Spc. Justin B. Onwordi, 28, of Chandler, Ariz.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Armored Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed while on patrol Aug. 2 when an improvised explosive device detonated near the vehicle in Baghdad.
Marine Sgt. Bryan J. Opskar, 32, of Princeton, Minn.; assigned to the 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed July 23 when his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device while he was conducting combat operations near Rutbah, Iraq.
Puerto Rico Army National Guard Spc. Richard P. Orengo, 32, of Toa Alta, Puerto Rico; assigned to the 755th Military Police Company, Arecibo, Puerto Rico; killed by enemy fire June 26 in Najif, Iraq.
Army Lt. Col. Kim S. Orlando, 43, of Tennessee; commanding officer of the 716th Military Police Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), based in Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed while attempting to negotiate with armed men who were congregating on a road near a mosque after curfew on Oct. 16 in Karbala, Iraq. Also killed in the attack were Staff Sgt. Joseph P. Bellavia and Cpl. Sean R. Grilley. Seven other U.S. soldiers were wounded.
Marine Lance Cpl. Eric J. Orlowski, 26, of Buffalo, N.Y.; assigned to the 2nd Tank Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed in a machine-gun accident in Iraq.
Army 1st Lt. Osbaldo Orozco, 26, of Delano, Calif.; assigned to C Company, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment based in Fort Hood, Texas; killed when his vehicle rolled over while traveling through rough terrain. His unit was the quick reaction force and was responding to enemy fire.
Army Pfc. Cody J. Orr, 21, of Ruskin, Fla.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 20th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed while conducting a surveillance sweep for improvised explosive devices Jan. 17 when his Bradley Fighting Vehicle struck such a device and overturned north of Taji, Iraq.
Marine Pvt. Elijah M. Ortega, 19, of Oxnard, Calif.; assigned to the 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed Sept. 26 due to a non-hostile gunshot wound at Camp Baharia, Iraq.
Army Staff Sgt. Billy J. Orton, 41, of Humnoke, Ark.; assigned to 39th Support Battalion, 39th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Army National Guard, Hazen, Ark.; killed April 24 when mortar rounds hit his camp in Taji, Iraq.
Army Sgt. Timothy R. Osbey, 34, of Magnolia, Miss.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 155th Infantry Regiment (Mechanized), Mississippi Army National Guard, McComb, Miss.; killed Feb. 16 when a roadway collapsed, causing his vehicle to roll over, at Forward Operating Base Iskandariyah, Iraq. Also killed was Army Spc. Joseph A. Rahaim.
Army Sgt. Pamela G. Osbourne, 38, of Hollywood, Fla.; assigned to Division Artillery, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed Oct. 11 when two rockets hit her camp in Baghdad. Also killed was Pfc. Anthony W. Monroe.
Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Mark S. O’Steen, 43, of Ozark, Ala.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed in a MH-60 Black Hawk crash during training on Jan. 30, 2003, in Afghanistan.
Army Staff Sgt. Ryan S. Ostrom, 25, of Liberty, Pa.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 109th Infantry Regiment, Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Williamsport, Pa.; died Aug. 9 in Taqaddum, Iraq, of injuries sustained earlier from enemy small-arms fire in Habbaniya, Iraq.
Marine Lance Cpl. Deshon E. Otey, 24, of Hardin, Ky.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed June 21 by hostile fire in Anbar province, Iraq.
Army Pfc. Kevin C. Ott, 27, of Columbus, Ohio; assigned to Battery B, 3rd Battalion, 18th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Sill, Okla.; killed in action in Iraq sometime between June 25 and June 28.
Army Staff Sgt. Michael C. Ottolini, 45, of Sebastopol, Calif.; assigned to the 579th Engineer Battalion, California Army National Guard, Petaluma, Calif.; killed Nov. 10 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his up-armored Humvee in Balad, Iraq.
Navy Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class (SEAL) Brian J. Ouellette, 37, of Needham, Mass.; assigned to Navy Special Warfare Group Two, Little Creek, Va.; killed May 29 while on mounted patrol near Jahak and Seleh, Afghanistan.
Army Sgt. Michael G. Owen, 31, of Phoenix; assigned to the 9th Psychological Operations Battalion, 4th Psychological Operations Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.; killed Oct. 15 when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle in Karabilah, Iraq. Also killed was Spc. Jonathan J. Santos.
Army Capt. Bartt D. Owens, 31, of Middletown, Ohio; assigned to E Co, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, based at Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed in an MH-47E crash during a training exercise, on Feb. 22, 2002 in the Philippines.
Marine Lance Cpl. David Edward Owens Jr., 20, of Winchester, Va.; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed after receiving wounds in action in central Iraq.
