Army Pfc. Torey J. Dantzler, 22, of Columbia, La.; assigned to the 66th Transportation Company, Kaiserslautern, Germany; killed July 22 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his convoy vehicle in Samarra, Iraq.
Army Pfc. Norman Darling, 29, of Middleboro, Mass.; assigned to 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany; one of eight soldiers killed April 29 by a car bomb as his unit was doing a dismounted improvised-explosive device-sweep in Baghdad.
Air Force Capt. Eric B. Das, 30, of Amarillo, Texas; assigned to the 333rd Fighter Squadron based at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C.; killed when the F-15E he was piloting went down during a combat mission in Iraq. The incident remains under investigation.
Marine Lance Cpl. Wesley G. Davids, 20, of Dublin, Ohio; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, Columbus, Ohio; attached to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward); killed May 11 in an explosion while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Karabilah, Iraq.

Army Sgt. Anthony J. Davis Jr., 22, of Long Beach, Calif.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Wash.; killed April 23 when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near his Stryker military vehicle in Mosul, Iraq.
Navy Machinist’s Mate Fireman Apprentice Bryant L. Davis, 20, of Chicago, stationed on the carrier Kitty Hawk, home-ported at Yokosuka Naval Fleet Activities, Japan, died when he fell overboard, on Nov. 7, 2001 in the Arabian Sea.
Army Pvt. Brandon L. Davis, 20, of Cumberland, Md.; assigned to the 1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.; killed March 31 when an improvised explosive device hit his armored personnel carrier in Habbaniyah, Iraq.
Army Staff Sgt. Craig Davis, 37, of Opelousas, La.; assigned to the 603rd Transportation Company, 142nd Corps Support Battalion, Fort Polk, La.; killed in action while on board a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter when it crashed during a Medevac mission, on Jan. 8 in Fallujah, Iraq.
Army Spc. Daryl A. Davis, 20, of Orlando, Fla.; assigned to the 144th Transportation Company, Florida Army National Guard, Marianna, Fla.; killed Nov. 29 when his Humvee was involved in a traffic accident in Iraq.
Army Staff Sgt. Donald N. Davis, 42, of Saginaw, Mich.; assigned to the 660th Transportation Company, Army Reserve, Zanesville, Ohio; killed Aug. 24 when an M915A tractor and an M106A2 tanker trailer rolled over an embankment in Fallujah, Iraq.
Army Master Sgt. Jefferson D. Davis, 39, of Watauga, Tenn.; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed in a friendly fire bombing on Dec. 5, 2001, in Afghanistan.
Army Staff Sgt. Kevin D. Davis, 40, of Lebanon, Ore.; assigned to G Troop, 82nd Cavalry, Oregon Army National Guard, Redmond, Ore.; died April 8 in Balad, Iraq, of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee in Hawijah, Iraq.

Army Sgt. Robert G. Davis, 23, of Jackson, Mo.; assigned to the 864th Engineer Combat Battalion (Heavy), 555th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (Provisional), Fort Lewis, Wash.; killed Aug. 18 when an improvised explosive device detonated underneath his Humvee during ground assault convoy operations in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Also killed was 1st Lt. Laura M. Walker.

Army Staff Sgt. David F. Day, 25, of Saint Louis Park, Minn.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 151st Field Artillery, 34th Infantry Division, Minnesota Army National Guard, Montevideo, Minn.; killed Feb. 21 when an improvised explosive device detonated as he was assisting injured soldiers in his command in Baghdad. Also killed were Army 1st Lt. Jason G. Timmerman and Army Sgt. Jesse M. Lhotka.

Army Spc. Michael S. Deem, 35, of Rockledge, Fla.; assigned to Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.; died Feb. 24 in Baghdad from non-combat-related injuries.
Army Spc. Robert W. Defazio, 21, of West Babylon, N.Y.; assigned to the 23rd Ordnance Company, Miesau, Germany; died April 24 of non-combat-related injuries in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
Army Pvt. 2 Jason L. Deibler, 20, of Coeburn, Va.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, Smith Barracks, Baumholder, Germany; killed in Kuwait by a non-combat weapon discharge.
Army Spc. Lauro G. DeLeon Jr., 20, of Floresville, Texas; assigned to the 644th Transportation Company, Army Reserve, Beaumont, Texas; killed Sept. 8 when improvised explosive devices detonated near his convoy in Balad, Iraq.

Army Sgt. Jacob H. Demand, 29, of Palouse, Wash.; assigned to the 1st Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, Fort Lewis, Wash.; killed Sept. 14 when his patrol was attacked by enemy forces in Mosul, Iraq.
Marine Cpl. Kevin J. Dempsey, 23, of Monroe, Conn.; assigned to 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed Nov. 13 by enemy action in Anbar province, Iraq.
Marine Lance Cpl. Tenzin Dengkhim, 19, of Falls Church, Va.; assigned to the 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed April 2 by enemy action in Anbar Province, Iraq.
Army Staff Sgt. Mike A. Dennie, 31, of Fayetteville, N.C.; assigned to the 106th Finance Battalion, Kitzingen, Germany; died Sept. 29 in Balad, Iraq, of injuries sustained Sept. 22 when the driver of his military vehicle pulled off the road and lost control, causing it to roll over, in Baghdad.
Army Pvt. 2 Jerod R. Dennis, 19, of Oklahoma; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 504th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; killed on April 25, 2003, in Afghanistan.
Washington (D.C.) Army National Guard Spc. Darryl T. Dent, 21, of Washington, D.C.; assigned to the 547th Transportation Company, U.S. Army National Guard, based in Washington, D.C.; killed Aug. 26 in southeast Arimadi, Iraq. Dent was in a convoy when an improvised explosive device struck his vehicle.
Army Pvt. Cory R. Depew, 21, of Beech Grove, Ind.; assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Wash.; killed Jan. 4 when a rocket-propelled grenade struck his Stryker military vehicle in Mosul, Iraq.
Army Sgt. 1st Class Robert V. Derenda, 42, of Ledbetter, Ky.; assigned to the 1st Brigade, 98th Division, Army Reserve, Rochester, N.Y.; killed Aug. 5 when a civilian fuel truck collided with his Humvee while he was performing a convoy mission in Rubiah, Iraq. Also killed was Sgt. 1st Class Brett E. Walden.
Marine Cpl. Dustin A. Derga, 24, of Columbus, Ohio; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, Columbus, Ohio; attached to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward); killed May 8 by enemy small-arms fire while conducting combat operations in Ubaydi, Iraq.
Army Spc. Brian K. Derks , 21, of White Cloud, Mich.; assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 11th Armored Calvary Regiment, Fort Irwin, Calif.; killed Aug. 13 when an improvised explosive device detonated while he was on mounted patrol in Baghdad.
Army Sgt. Andrew J. Derrick, 25, of Columbia, S.C.; assigned to the 411th Military Police Company, 720th Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas; killed Sept. 23 when his dismounted team came under attack by enemy forces using small-arms fire near Baghdad.
Army Pfc. Ervin Dervishi, 21, Fort Worth, Texas; assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, based at Fort Hood, Texas; died Jan. 24 when a rocket-propelled grenade hit the Bradley Fighting Vehicle in which he was traveling on combat patrol in Baji, Iraq. He was evacuated to the 28th Combat Support Hospital where he later died.
Army Spc. Daniel A. Desens, 20, of Jacksonville, N.C.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 120th Infantry, Army National Guard, Jacksonville, N.C.; killed June 24 when his Bradley Fighting Vehicle came under attack from small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades in Baqubah, Iraq.
Marine Lance Cpl. Travis R. Desiato, 19, of Bedford, Mass.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed Nov. 15 by enemy action in Anbar province, Iraq.
Army Pfc. Nathaniel E. Detample, 19, of Morrisville, Pa.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 111th Infantry Regiment (Mechanized), Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Philadelphia; killed Aug. 9 when a mine exploded and enemy forces attacked using small-arms fire as he was investigating a rocket-propelled grenade incident in Bayji, Iraq. Also killed were Spc. John Kulick, Spc. Gennaro Pellegrini Jr. and Sgt. Francis J. Straub Jr.
Army Pfc. Michael R. Deuel, 21, of Nemo, S.D.; assigned to Company B, 2nd Battalion, 325th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; killed June 18, in Baghdad, Iraq. Deuel received fatal gun shot wounds while on guard duty at a propane distribution center.
Army Pvt. 2 Michael J. Deutsch, 21, of Dubuque, Iowa; assigned to 1st Squadron, 1st Armored Cavalry Regiment, Armstrong Barracks, Germany; killed while riding in a vehicle that was struck by an explosive device on July 31 in Baghdad.
Marine Lance Cpl. Daniel N. Deyarmin Jr., 22, of Tallmadge, Ohio; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, Brook Park, Ohio; attached to Regimental Combat Team 2, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward); killed Aug. 1 by enemy small-arms fire while conducting dismounted operations outside Haditha, Iraq. Also killed were Marine Cpl. Jeffrey A. Boskovitch, Marine Lance Cpl. Roger D. Castleberry Jr., Marine Sgt. David J. Coullard, Marine Lance Cpl. Brian P. Montgomery and Marine Sgt. Nathaniel S. Rock.

Army Cpl. Tyler J. Dickens, 20, of Columbus, Ga.; assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Irwin, Calif.; died April 12 at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio of injuries sustained April 6 when his guard tower caught fire in Mahmudiyah, Iraq.
Navy Equipment Operator 3rd Class Christopher M. Dickerson, 33, of Eastman, Ga.; assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 14, based in Jacksonville, Fla.; killed April 30 when his military vehicle hit an improvised explosive device while traveling in a convoy in Anbar province, Iraq.
Marine Lance Cpl. Joshua W. Dickinson, 25, of Pasco, Fla.; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed Dec. 12 by enemy action in Anbar province, Iraq.
Army Spc. Christopher W. Dickison, 26, of Seattle; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.; killed July 5 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his patrol in Baqubah, Iraq.
Marine Cpl. Nicholas J. Dieruf, 21, of Versailles, Ky.; assigned to 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed April 8 by hostile fire in Anbar province, Iraq.
Army Sgt. 1st Class Trevor J. Diesing, 30, of Plum City, Wis.; assigned the Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, N.C., killed August 25 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his position in Husaybah, Iraq.
Navy Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class (SEAL) Danny P. Dietz, 25, of Littleton, Colo.; assigned to SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team 2, Virginia Beach, Va.; killed while conducting counter-terrorism operations in Kunar province, Afghanistan. Coalition forces located his remains while conducting a combat search-and-rescue operation July 4 in Kunar province. His whereabouts had been unknown since June 28.
Army Spc. Jeremiah J. DiGiovanni, 21, of Tylertown, Miss.; assigned to 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed Nov. 15 when two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.
Army Staff Sgt. Christopher W. Dill, 32, of Tonawanda, N.Y.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 390th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 98th Division, Army Reserve, Buffalo, N.Y.; killed April 4 when his patrol was attacked by enemy forces using small-arms fire in Balad Ruz, Iraq. Also killed was Sgt. 1st Class Stephen C. Kennedy.
Marine Corps Pfc. James R. Dillon Jr., 19 of Grove City Pa.; assigned to B Company, 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Twentynine Palms, Calif.; killed as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot on March 13, 2003, in Kuwait.
Army Sgt. Catalin D. Dima, 36, of White Lake, N.Y.; assigned to the 411th Engineer Brigade, Army Reserve, New Windsor, N.Y.; killed Nov. 13 when enemy mortar fire landed near his position in Baghdad.
Army Spc. Jeremy M. Dimaranan, 29, of Virginia Beach, Va.; assigned to the 302nd Transportation Company, 172nd Combat Support Group, Army Reserve, Fort Eustis, Va.; killed June 16 during a mortar attack when mortar rounds hit his camp in Balad, Iraq.
Army Spc. Joshua P. Dingler, 19, of Hiram, Ga.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 108th Armor Regiment, Georgia Army National Guard, Calhoun, Ga.; killed Aug. 15 when his Humvee accidentally rolled over into a canal in Mahmudiyah, Iraq. Also killed were Sgt. Thomas J. Strickland and Sgt. Paul A. Saylor.
Army Spc. Michael A. Diraimondo, 22, of Simi Valley, Calif.; assigned to the 571st Medical Company (Air Ambulance), based in Fort Carson, Colo.; killed Jan. 8 while on board a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter when it crashed during a Medevac mission in Fallujah, Iraq.
Army Spc. Jason A. Disney, 21, of Fallon, Nev.; assigned to the 7th Transportation Battalion, bsed at Fort Bragg, N.C.; killed in a heavy equipment accident, on Feb. 13, 2002 at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan.
Air Force Maj. Duane W. Dively, 43, of Rancho California, Calif.; assigned to the 1st Reconnaissance Squadron, Beale Air Force Base, Calif.; killed June 22 when his U-2 aircraft crashed in Southwest Asia as he was returning to base after flying a mission.

Also killed were: Marine Lance Cpl. Nicholas B. Erdy; Marine Lance Cpl. Jonathan W. Grant, and Marine Lance Cpl. Jourdan L. Grez.

Army Staff Sgt. John G. Doles, 29, of Claremore, Okla.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry Regiment, Vicenza, Italy, killed Sep. 30 during patrol operations when his unit was attacked by enemy forces using rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire in Shah Wali, Afghanistan.
Army Spc. Ryan E. Doltz, 26, of Mine Hill, N.J., assigned to Battery B, 3rd Battalion, 112th Field Artillery, Army National Guard, Lawrenceville, N.J.; killed June 5 when his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device in Baghdad.
Army Sgt. Michael E. Dooley, 23, of Pulaski, Va.; assigned to 1st Squadron, 3rd Armor Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo.; killed on June 8 in Asad, Iraq. Dooley was manning a traffic control point when a vehicle came up to the checkpoint and two individuals got out requesting a medic for their sick friend. Immediately following the request for help, they opened fire on Dooley which resulted in his death.

Dooley, 27, of Wallkill, N.Y.; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 172nd Infantry Regiment (Mountain), 42nd Infantry Division, Vermont Army National Guard, Jericho, Vt.; killed Sep. 19 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during patrol operations in Ramadi, Iraq.
Army Chief Warrant Officer Patrick Dorff, 32, of Minnesota; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 10th Aviation (Fort Drum); attached to the 3rd Squadron, 17th Cavalry, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y; killed Jan. 25 when his Kiowa Warrior helicopter went down in the Tigris River during a search for four soldiers whose watercraft had capsized. Marine Cpl. Jason L. Dunham, 22, of Scio, N.Y.; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, at Twentynine Palms, Calif.; died April 22 at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Md., of injuries sustained April 14 when he used his body to shield comrades from a grenade explosion in Husaybah, Iraq. He has been nominated for a Medal of Honor.
