Army Cpl. Dane R. Balcon
19, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; assigned to the 1st Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; died Sept. 5 in Balad, Iraq, of wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device. Also killed was Cpl. William T. Warford III.
