Army Spc. Carl F. Curran

22, of Union City, Pa.; assigned to Battery C, 1st Battalion, 107th Field Artillery Regiment, Army National Guard, Oil City, Pa.; killed May 16 when his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device in Karmah, Iraq.


Spc. Carl F. Curran married his wife, Dianna, about a month before he deployed, and had an infant daughter. Curran, 22, of Union City, Pa., was a member of a Pennsylvania National Guard unit based near Pittsburgh. He died May 16 after an explosion flipped his Humvee off a bridge near Fallujah, Iraq.
