Marine from California dies at Army hospital

SAN ANTONIO — A Marine from California died at a military hospital here last week from injuries sustained in the fighting in Iraq, the Defense Department said Tuesday.
Lance Cpl. Hugo R. Lopezlopez, 20, of La Habra, Calif., died Friday at Brooke Army Medical Center from wounds sustained Nov. 20 when an improvised explosive device detonated near him in Rawah, Iraq.
Lopezlopez was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, based at Camp Pendleton, Calif.
