Marine Cpl. Nicholas O. Cherava
21, of Ontonagon, Mich.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed Oct. 6 by an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations against enemy forces near Karmah, Iraq. Also killed was Lance Cpl. Jason L. Frye.
