Joseph Page II, a missile combat crewmember with the 741st Missile Squadron at Minot Air Force Base, N.D., gained not only a brother-in-law but a brother-in-arms when his sister Erin married Air Force 2nd Lt. Robert Rose. Rose deployed from Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., with the 796th Civil Engineering Squadron for Operation Enduring Freedom. Dear Rob, I know you’re in need of mail, so I’m writing you yet again. I know my last few letters haven’t been all that positive, but you said you wanted to know what was going on back home. It feels so strange to be writing to you in some far-off land. I thought I’d be the first to deploy and see the world. But I’m here at home, guarding America with my nuclear missiles, while you are off defending us from afar. 
Christy Farris’ brother, Senior Airman Chad Pursifull, has deployed as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Christy lives in Macon, Mo. Dear Chad, You are my baby brother and all my life I have tried to protect you — and now you are the one doing the protecting. I knew from the moment you were born that you would grow up to be someone special, and I was right. Grandpa Pursifull would be so very proud if he could see you now.
Amanda Cole and her husband, Senior Airman Jason Cole Sr., are stationed at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. The couple has one child, a son. Dear Jason, Since Sept. 11, I know things have been hectic for you at work. You have been away due to the hours of overtime and the need to prepare for possible deployment. As your wife and the mother of our beautiful son, I want you to know that we are very proud of you and love you very much. We support you 100 percent!
