Amanda Cole and her husband, Senior Airman Jason Cole Sr., are stationed at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. The couple has one child, a son.

Dear Jason,

Since Sept. 11, I know things have been hectic for you at work. You have been away due to the hours of overtime and the need to prepare for possible deployment. As your wife and the mother of our beautiful son, I want you to know that we are very proud of you and love you very much. We support you 100 percent!

Even though you are away so much, it’s my duty to keep the home front under control. We might have to be mindful of force protection and wait for three hours in a long line of cars to get on base. On the other hand, how else would we have the chance to live in Germany or other countries in the future? We are living a dream here in Europe.

We are very proud that you are fighting for what our country is based on — freedom. Stay strong and remember you have a family that loves and supports you dearly.

With lots of love,
Amanda
