Airman 1st Class Marco D. Nario of the 621st Tanker Airlift Control Element out of McGuire Air Force Base, N.J., writes from the U.S. military outpost at Bagram air base, Afghanistan.
Hello Mom, Dad, Brothers, Sisters, Family and Friends,
Just want to let you know how grateful and pleased I am to be part of your life. Reading your letters and opening the packages you send truly lifts me when Im down and warms me when I feel lonely. In return, here I am on the other side of the world dedicating my time and service to eliminate the terrorism that disfigured our way of life. Im fighting not only for America, but also for the whole world that desires to have peace in their hearts and minds.
I never thought that at a very young age I would be participating in a war that would bring forth joy, peace and a lovely world for tomorrows children. I truly believe that we can win this battle not only because we have the best technology, but also because we have integrity in all things. Not only do we have the best weapons, but we learn how to sacrifice ourselves for others. And not only are we well-trained, but we also aim to be excellent in everything.
I may not know what lies ahead tomorrow. It may be pleasant or painful. But this I know, my life is in Gods hands. If God is with us, therefore, who can be against us?
Thank you for keeping us in prayer and remember that I love you all, I miss you all, and I cant wait to be with you all again!
God bless,
Marco
