Sgt. Gary Teal, assigned to the 202nd Military Intelligence Battalion out of Fort Gordon, Ga., recently deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan. A native of Hanover, Md., he writes to family members in his home state as well as in New Jersey and Ohio.
Dear Elisa, Mom, Dad, Mark and Karen,
I miss and love you all. Your love and support means so much to me. I have been mobilized in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and have found myself here in Afghanistan. You have always supported me during my deployments and this one has been no exception. Your prayers and letters help to keep me motivated for this extremely important mission. Through prayer and patience, I know our nation will heal and prevail.
As for where I stay, its not bad. I am working with a GREAT bunch of soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines. Regular use of the Baby Wipes we receive from home allows us all to work together in close spaces! Although I miss you, I would not want to be away from this mission. Our nation is truly blessed and it is an honor to defend it. I am very excited to be an uncle soon. Be sure to send me pictures. Please hug each other regularly for me.
Love always,
Gary
