  • Army 1st Lt. Osbaldo Orozco, 26, of Delano, Calif., assigned to C Company, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment based in Fort Hood, Texas; killed when his vehicle rolled over while traveling through rough terrain. His unit was the quick reaction force and was responding to enemy fire.
  • Army Spc. Narson B. Sullivan , 21, of North Brunswick, N.J., assigned to the 411th Military Police Company based in Fort Hood, Texas; killed by a non-combat weapon discharge in Iraq. The incident is under investigation.

  • Army Sgt. Troy David Jenkins , 25, of Ridgecrest, Calif., assigned to B Company, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment based in Fort Campbell, Ky.; died from wounds received as a result of an explosion April 19 while on a dismounted patrol with other soldiers in Iraq. Sgt. Jenkins died from his injuries at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany.

  • Marine Chief Warrant Officer Andrew Todd Arnold , 30, of Spring, Texas, assigned to the 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade based in Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed in a non-hostile accident when a rocket-propelled grenade launcher being fired for familiarization malfunctioned near Al Kut, Iraq. The incident is under investigation.
  • Army Spc. Roy Russell Buckley, 24, of Portage, Ind., assigned to the 685th Transportation Company, based in Hobart, Ind.; was aboard a M818 truck traveling in a convoy when he exited the passenger compartment, climbed into the trailer and did not return. He was discovered lying on the side of the road with serious injuries and was pronounced dead. The incident is under investigation.
  • Chief Warrant Officer Robert William Channell Jr., 36, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., assigned to the 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade based in Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed in a non-hostile accident when a rocket-propelled grenade launcher being fired for familiarization malfunctioned near Al Kut, Iraq. Armando Ariel Gonzalez, 25, of Hileah, Fla.; assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 273, Marine Wing Support Group 27, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, S.C.; killed in a non-hostile accident when a commercial refueler collapsed at Logistics Supply Area Viper in southern Iraq.
  • Army Spc. Richard A. Goward , 32, of Midland, Mich.; assigned to 1460th Transportation Company, Midland, Mich.; killed when his truck entered a dust cloud and rear-ended the truck in front of him in Iraq.
  • Army Pfc. Joseph P. Mayek, 20, of Rock Springs, Wyo.; assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, Smith Barracks, Germany; killed after being struck by a round that was discharged from Bradley Fighting Vehicle in Iraq.
  • Marine Cpl. Jason David Mileo, 20 of Centreville, Md., assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division based in Twentynine Palms, Calif.; was shot and killed after being mistaken for an enemy soldier in the vicinity of Baghdad. The incident is under investigation.
